As we are fast approaching completion of paving on the project, we would like to thank everyone for your continued patience. Part of the last concrete pour will be the tie in to Marylynn Dr, which will require a road and lane closures. Starting Monday, December 10, to Wednesday December 12, from 9am to 1pm Marylynn will be shut down in both directions at the intersection of Nancy Dr. lease be aware and make alternate routes during these times. On a happier note, all pavement and backfill should be completed by Friday December 21 and NO work will take place during the holiday week and we will be back January 2nd. We have received word that the contractor for the project ran into a problem on Nancy Drive this afternoon. Due to an equipment malfunction on equipment needed to complete the lime stabilizing process, which has now been rectified, residents will not be able to drive through a portion of Nancy Drive this evening 11/20/18. The contractor will resume work tomorrow morning, 11/21, and will have the area opened-up sometime tomorrow afternoon. Thank you in advance for your continued patience. 11/18/18 5:56pmMonday, 11/19, asphalt paving will be completed, and the Walker/Jefferson intersection will reopen that afternoon. VERY IMPORTANT,Lime stabilizing will be taking place on the remaining portion of Nancy Dr. on Tuesday, 11/20. NO TRAFFIC will be able to enter or leave after 7am or before it is completed at approximately 5pm. If a vehicle is not moved out before it begins, it must remain there until it is finished due to the condition of surface during liming. After a long wet week, crews worked the entire weekend and today have completed the final section of concrete pavement on Walker St. Work will continue over the next week or so on final grading and laying the asphalt up to Jefferson. We are scheduled to pour the first section of pavement starting at 6 am , please be alert for the increased truck traffic on both sides of the project for most of the day. After a couple days of taking care of some logistics and getting material delivered, the work has begun for the first section of concrete pavement. With that, comes long term closures and detours. With subgrade prep nearly complete, the contractors will begin set up to start the concrete paving on Monday, 10/01/18. With that, comes the beginning of long term closures of sections of the streets. The first being the Nancy Dr. / Walker St. intersection from the alley to Stadium Dr. The contractors will be making contact with the residents to inform them at the time they will be actually affected by a closure. The first will only affect the residence at 409 Walker and will last 2 to 3 weeks as the pavement project moves east on Walker. Please be patient with travel and parking issues. We have just received notification that a gas main has been hit at Mary Lynn and Nancy Drive. The area has been cordoned off. The Fire Department is on the scene, Atmos is en route, and a few houses have been evacuated as a precaution. There is no report of injuries or property damage, other than the damage to the gas main. There will be a planned shutdown on Monday 9/24/18 (Weather permitting) from 8am to 6pm for residents along Nancy Dr. from Franklin to Marylynn to complete the tie in with the existing system and hook up the remaining services. The intersection of Walker and Jefferson will be closed tomorrow, 9/19 from 7am to 6pm to lay new road base ahead of the pavement. On Thursday, 9/20, there will be a total closure of Walker St and Nancy Dr from Jefferson to Franklin from 7am to 6pm for lime stabilization. No vehicle traffic in or out will be allowed during this time. This is the final step before the start of paving! There will be a planned outage of water service on Tuesday, 9/18/18 from approximately 8:00am - 6:00pm to make the change to the new main, and to remove a portion of the old system from service. This outage will affect the area along Nancy Drive from Jefferson Street to Marylynn, as well as Stadium and Franklin streets from Nancy Dr to Marylynn. Residents in the affected area may experience minor issues with discoloration and or air bubbles briefly as the new system comes online. Due to past, present, and impending rains, most work on the project is delayed except the water main relocation, which is continuing up Nancy Dr towards Marylynn. The crew are doing their very best to maintain a driveable surface, but due to the amount of precipitation that has already been received and the additional in the forecast, there will be parts of the project that will be impassable at times and will have to be closed to ALL traffic. This is being monitored hourly and there is personnel on standby to try to deal with any issues as they arise. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE OR WALK THROUGH ANY HIGH WATER AT ANY TIME. Please keep in mind the crew is doing their very best to keep the road passable under these conditions. Work on the water main relocation is nearly to Franklin St. and will be pushing north day by day. PLEASE BE ADVISED, Parking will need to be restricted on Nancy Dr from Franklin to Marylynn starting Monday. All vehicles need to be off of street by 7am until 6pm. Removal of curb and driveway approaches are complete on Walker St., and will begin on Nancy Drive tomorrow, 8/29/18. Water main construction has reached the Stadium Drive intersection and will continue up Nancy Dr on Monday, 9/3/18. *** Residents on Walker St will experience a short, planned outage of water service tomorrow, 8/30/18 as we switch over to a new, temporary water service that will facilitate the change over to the new 6" main in the coming weeks .***
Please place your trash can out as normal and the folks working on road will be sure it is emptied. They are working very closely with Knox Waste to be sure service is not interrupted.

There will be daily closures to all vehicle traffic in the affected area. The last portion of concrete pavement has been removed along Nancy Dr in preparation for the water main relocation, which is on schedule and is now clear of the Jefferson St intersection. Closures will continue daily along Walker between Jefferson and Stadium for the next week at least. As always, please be patient.
The pavement removal on Walker is complete for now, and the road has reopened. Please use caution on the gravel surface. Work is progressing on pavement removal ahead of water main relocation, however, the area of the Nancy Dr/ Walker St. intersection will remain closed overnight and through the day tomorrow due to a sewer line relocation. As of today , the Atmos contractor has completed clean up and is finished with their work. Erosion protection has been installed along Ross St., below the spillway. There will be a road closure on Walker St., from Jefferson to Stadium tomorrow from 7 a to 5 pm. Please plan accordingly as we are removing concrete pavement and it will be impassable. FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE AROUND ANY BARRICADES! Also, water main installation will begin at Jefferson and Walker, but we DO NOT anticipate any water outages with this phase. We would also like to address some concerns with the restoration of the easement, all work will be restored to original or better conditions at the end of this project.
As of today, 7/31/18, all traffic control is in place and the logistical work is progressing forward. The contractor for Atmos states they have completed the last service and will be in the cleanup stage for a day or two. The next phase will be the water main relocation which will begin tomorrow, 8/1. Watch for intermittent street closures along Walker St between Jefferson and the intersection of Nancy Dr and Stadium Dr between 7 am and 5 PM. Again, PLEASE BE PATIENT with detours and parking.
Phase 1 of Nancy Drive Street project has begun, traffic control is going up, as well as safety fences to protect property along the site. Relocation of the water main under Nancy Dr, is expected to begin Wednesday, 8/01/18, and we ask for your patience with detours, closures and parking issues during this period.
